Exploring Careers at Aaron School’s Career Week

  |   Aaron School, Special Programs

Students participated in Career Week and Career Day activities at both campuses this week and engaged with professionals from different fields. These experiences gave students valuable insight into various career paths and the skills needed to succeed in the working world.

Career Day at 45th Street

On Career Day, six guest speakers from different professions visited our school to share their experiences and knowledge. Students got a firsthand look at careers in law, engineering, psychology, and culinary arts, among others. Each speaker discussed their daily responsibilities, the challenges they face, and the rewards of their work.

Highlights from Our Guest Speakers:

  • Lawyers discussed how they advocate for their clients, interpret laws, and help their clients. They emphasized the importance of strong communication skills and critical thinking.
  • Engineers explained how they design and build structures, machines, and technology that impact everyday life. Students were fascinated by the problem-solving and creativity involved in engineering. They also loved that the engineers work with the MTA system.
  • Psychologists shed light on mental health, the importance of understanding emotions, and how they help people navigate challenges. Their discussion reinforced the significance of empathy and active listening.
  • Chefs shared their passion for cooking, the art of creating delicious meals, and how teamwork plays a vital role in running a kitchen. Students learned about the dedication and creativity required in the culinary world.

Career Week at 30th Street

At the 30th Street campus, Career Week provided upper school students with a deep dive into different professions. Guest speakers from industries including art, finance, influencer marketing, nursing, and IT shared insights into their careers. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and explore fields they may want to pursue in the future.

In addition to the guest speakers, Career Week featured engaging activities like Career Trivia and Dress to Impress Day, where students dressed as their desired profession or in professional attire. These activities helped students think about their possible careers while having fun.

At Aaron School, we are committed to empowering students with knowledge and opportunities to explore their futures. Career Day and Career Week were stepping stones toward helping them discover their interests and potential career paths. We extend our deepest gratitude to our guest speakers for sharing their time and expertise!

Here’s to a future filled with curiosity, growth, and success for all our students! 🌟
