Meet Beth Fried, Aaron School Principal

  |   Aaron School, Elementary School, Lower School, Middle School, News

Beth Fried joined The Aaron School in 2008, as the Assistant Head of School and Director of Clinical Services. In 2012, Beth was promoted to Principal of the K-7 Division. Beth is responsible for the day to day operations of the 45th Street Campus including, but not limited to, staff hiring, schedules/logistics, class groupings, therapy caseloads, policies/procedures, and database management. Her direct reports are the Educational Supervisors, Therapists, and Specialists, so she is intimately involved with teachers and classrooms, as she has daily interactions with students and parents.

Beth comes to us from Winston Preparatory School (New York, NY) where she put her Speech Pathology background to work as a Focus Teacher for students in grades 6-12. In this capacity, Beth provided 1:1 sessions to students in the areas of speech and language, decoding, writing, reading comprehension, Executive Function, as well as Social Cognition and Pragmatic Language. In addition, she taught Social Communication group classes to facilitate expressive language and problem solving in verbal and written formats. Serving as Case Manager, Beth facilitated communication between families, faculty, administration, and outside therapists for her caseload. In addition, Beth co-ran Winston’s original summer program for four years. In 2004, Beth was promoted to Assistant Director of Operations, and then to Director of Operations in 2007 with the expansion of Winston’s Connecticut campus. In this position, Beth was responsible for the day to day operation of the 17th Street Campus, in addition to executing schoolwide assessment and testing reporting. Prior to working in the field of education, Beth worked in advertising, finance, fundraising, and spent 5 of those years at Estee Lauder. She even worked for CBS Sports in Women’s Downhill Skiing at the 1992 Albertville Olympic Games. Her last business position was at Estee Lauder as a Manager of the Sales Promotion Department. In this role, Beth supervised all domestic fragrance, promotional, and Gift With Purchase printed materials. Too bad she doesn’t have her product closet and discount anymore!

Beth received her B.A. in Psychology from University of Rochester (Rochester, NY), earned a M.S, CCC-SLP from Columbia University Teacher’s College (New York, NY), and her SDL from Bank Street College of Education (New York, NY). Beth is licensed nationally to practice Speech-Language Pathology and holds a Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH) State Certification. Beth has a private practice in Speech Pathology and as a Learning Generalist.
