Throughout the first week of school, the artists of Aaron School 45th street asked themselves “Who am I? How do I see myself?” Then, they used mixed media to create self-portraits. Some artists chose a realistic approach, others dived into their imagination to create abstract pieces.
Here at Aaron School, and in schools across the country, October is known as Bullying Prevention Month! Through bullying-prevention themed challenges, lessons, and activities, students learned how to prevent bullying in our school community, and how to be Aaron “Upstanders” instead.
Within the Aaron School curriculum, students learn about the Zones of Regulation and various strategies to move between the zones.
